21st ANNUAL MISSOURI BUSINESS WEEK COMES TO A SUCCESSFUL CLOSE:
A STUDENT FROM YOUR AREA WAS IN ATTENDANCE
Columbia, Mo (July 11, 2006) – A high school student from your area has been in good company. He or she has just completed taking part in the 21st annual Missouri Business Week (MBW), a unique learning experience sponsored by the Missouri Association of REALTORS® and the University of Missouri College of Business.
A five-day experience designed to introduce high school sophomores and juniors to the real world of management and marketing, MBW’s authentic but fun approach helps participants learn how to make sound financial decisions by imitating the world of business. Aided by volunteer business leaders and professional workshop facilitators, MBW focuses on helping students learn and understand the basics of productive teamwork, leadership styles and proper business ethics. Recommended by their teachers and school counselors, students attend MBW on sponsorships provided by Missouri’s REALTORS® and other Missouri businesses and organizations.
The program began Sunday, June 25, concluding with an awards assembly on June 29. MBW students were housed in University of Missouri - Columbia residence halls with activities throughout the week taking place on campus. We hope you will make contact with those from your market area that attended MBW, to get their first-hand reaction what it was like to be a part of this state-wide recognized program.
