RE: MISSOURI BUSINESS WEEK

Once again, we are encouraging you to offer a special opportunity to your students by promoting the 24th annual MISSOURI BUSINESS WEEK, to be held June 28 - July 2, 2009 at the University of Missouri-Columbia.
MBW is a program for students exploring management and marketing or for those who want to strengthen their leadership skills as part of a working team. Freshmen, sophomores and juniors should apply, and there is no limitation to the number that can apply from each school. Approximately 200 students will be admitted from across the state.
A $500 college scholarship will be awarded to one student at the close of MBW. This is an optional opportunity, and to be considered, students will be asked to submit a college scholarship application form and other requirements after they are admitted to MBW.
All admitted students will be awarded a $500 sponsorship provided by Missouri REALTORS® and other businesses and organizations. This will cover room, board and program activities. To be considered for MBW, it is recommended that students have at least a 3.0 GPA; students with a 2.5 and above will be considered, provided school and/or outside activities are strong. Good school citizenship is a must, and we look for students who work well in groups. Please be sure that students include their accumulative average on the application. Applications must be postmarked no later than April 17 and signed by the student, a parent or guardian and a teacher or counselor. Students will be admitted in May.
